There are three people who call out to Allaah, but their supplication is not accepted

Question

Is this hadith authentic? Abu Musa, may Allaah be pleased with him, reports that the Prophet, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, said, "There are three people who call out to Allaah, but their supplication is not accepted: 1. A man who does not divorce his wife, despite her evil character. 2. A man who is owed money, but who did not call witnesses to attest to the loan. 3. And a man who hands his wealth to a reckless person, whereas Allaah, The Exalted, said, 'And do not give your wealth to the incompetent/reckless ones.'" (Mustadrak Hakim, vol.2 pg.302 & Sharh Mushkilil Athar of Tahawi, hadith: 2530. Also see Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, hadith: 17429) Imam Hakim, as well as Adh-Dhahabi, may Allaah have merci upon him, have classified the chain of this hadith as authentic. Imam Tahawi, may Allaah have merci upon him, has also approved this hadith.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

This hadeeth is saheeh (sound). In addition to its classification as saheeh by Al-Haakim, and Ath-Thahabi's approval of his classification, Sheikh Al-Albaani classified it as sound in his books Silsilat Al-Ahaadeeth As-Saheehah and Saheeh Al-Jaami' As-Sagheer.

Allaah knows best.
